The Cancer-Prevention Properties of BroccoSprouts
U.S. News & World Report, as shown in their attached graph, depicted how SGS triggers antioxidant activity by the cancer agents (free radical) out of human cells.
The Sulforaphane Discovery
As part of this research strategy, in 1992, Dr. Talalay and his colleagues at Johns Hopkins University isolated and identified sulforaphane, a natural compound found in broccoli. They found sulforaphane to be the most potent booster of Phase 2 enzymes, which stimulate the ability of animal cells to protect against disease.
Most important to Specialty Farms, the Johns Hopkins lab showed that broccoli sprouts, 4-day old broccoli plants, pack 20 to 50 times the cancer-fighting punch of mature broccoli by removing free radicals from the body over a period of 3 days after initial ingestion. Consuming only 4 ounces of these sprouts weekly for six weeks removed the majority of free radicals from the body. U.S. News and World Report, as shown in their attached graph from 1997, showed how SGS does this by driving cancer agents (free radicals) out of human cells.
Specialty Farms in 1998 became one of the first companies in the U.S. to be licensed by Brassica Protection Products (BPP), and is now the largest grower of SGS-rich broccoli sprouts in the U.S.
Five percent of our Brocco Sprout sales revenue goes toward Cancer prevention Research through the Brassica Foundation for Chemoprotection Research, Inc of Maryland.

The Walk to Empower is the signature fundraiser and provides the funding needed to help carry out the mission: To ensure through information, empowerment and peer support, no one faces breast cancer alone.
